چکیده
Ratiometric fluorescent probes based on boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) were developed based on a novel design strategy, in which a change of the electron-withdrawing character of the 2,6-substituents resulting from reaction with a target molecule generates a fluorescence wavelength change.

A ratiometric near-infrared pH-responsive fluorescent dye based on distyryl BODIPY.
A novel distyryl boron dipyrromethene substituted with two 4-(dimethylamino)phenylethynyl groups at the 2- and 6-positions has been synthesised and characterised. It exhibits remarkable and reversible pH-responsive changes in the absorption and fluorescence emission spectra, both in organic and in aqueous media.

Co-self-assembled vesicular nanoparticles of two structurally comparable amphiphilic boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes with dequenchable dual colour fluorescence were prepared for ratiometric imaging of live cells.
متن کاملCarbon nano-onions as fluorescent on/off modulated nanoprobes for diagnostics
Multishell fullerenes, known as carbon nano-onions (CNOs), have emerged as a platform for bioimaging because of their cell-penetration properties and minimal systemic toxicity. Here, we describe the covalent functionalization of CNOs with a π-extended distyryl-substituted boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dye with on/off modulated fluorescence emission activated by an acidic environment. The switch...
متن کاملBoron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) functionalized carbon nano-onions for high resolution cellular imaging.
Carbon nano-onions (CNOs) are an exciting class of carbon nanomaterials, which have recently demonstrated a facile cell-penetration capability. In the present work, highly fluorescent boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes were covalently attached to the surface of CNOs. The introduction of this new carbon nanomaterial-based imaging platform, made of CNOs and BODIPY fluorophores, allows for the exp...
متن کاملA novel fluorescent probe for Au(III)/Au(I) ions based on an intramolecular hydroamination of a Bodipy derivative and its application to bioimaging.
A novel fluorescent probe for gold ions (Au(3+)/Au(+)) is reported through blocking photoinduced electron transfer, in which a boron dipyrromethene (Bodipy) derivative reveals high selectivity and sensitivity in a gold-catalyzed intramolecular hydroamination, and is successfully applied to fluorescence imaging of Au(3+) in living cells.
